Freedom of Information Sourcebook 2011

NEW ESSENTIAL REFERENCE GUIDE ON FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACTS: AVAILABLE NOW

The 2011 edition of the FOI Sourcebook is updated to include all relevant secondary legislation, the guidance and notices issued by the Department of Finance and all High and Supreme Court decisions.

A new edition of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Sourcebook published by Public Affairs Ireland in association with Mason Hayes & Curran is now available.  It provides the most comprehensive guide available to the FOI legislation.  The Sourcebook contains a consolidated and annotated version of the 1997 and 2003 FOI Acts.  It also shows any changes made by other legislation and contains all supplementary guidance notes and guidelines, including Central Policy Unit notices.  Additionally, all relevant judgments of the High and Supreme Court that impact on particular sections of the legislation are contained in the FOI Sourcebook.

The Sourcebook also contains a foreword from the Information Commissioner, Ms Emily O’Reilly, and is designed to be accessible and of interest and benefit to a wide range of people who are engaged with FOI including FOI Officers, legal practitioners, members of the media, and information and records management staff in the public sector.

Emily O'Reilly, Information Commissioner; Catherine Allen, partner in the Administrative and Public Law Unit of Mason Hayes & Curran; and Sarah Kilduff, Editor at Public Affairs Ireland attend the launch of the 2011 edition of the FOI Sourcebook
