This seminar is designed for corporate affairs professionals or potential media interviewees who wish to understand how a critical listening approach to broadcasting can lead to more effective interviews. It gives participants the opportunity to discover how and why listeners respond to interviews in the way they do. Case studies are utilised throughout in order to highlight what works and vice versa.
lectronic media is a crowded space and all public sector bodies compete to be heard and noticed on radio and television. How can people from your organisation get their point across in interviews? What techniques exist to assist with doing a good interview?
Participants will gain an insight into the secrets of communicating through the broadcast media, both at a local and national level. This includes identifying the different types of interview method available to media practitioners as well as exploring the differences between interview techniques for radio and television.
By the end of the seminar, participants will have a new perspective on:
· Why some interviews work and others don’t
· Why some interviews can be deemed successful even though many listeners or viewers remain hostile
· How a listener or viewer must feel before they will be prepared to listen
·
