Under the growing complexity of procurement procedures (including the EU Directives), public procurement is now governed by a comprehensive regulatory and legal regime. It is essential that people tendering for public contracts should be aware of and know how to stay clear of legal and procedural pitfalls.

This seminar is designed to provide the appropriate guidance for relevant persons in the private sector tendering for public contracts in the light of this complexity.  The seminar will address issues such as:

  • The EU directives and other procedures
  • The onus on public authorities re strict compliance with the requirements when issuing contract notices
  • Pre-qualification procedures and best practice re the preparation of tenders
  • OJEU Notices
  • Evaluation procedures
  • Lessons learned from decisions by the European Commission or handed down by the courts

At the end of the seminar, participants will have a good awareness and understanding of the public procurement regulatory regime. They will become familiar with the concepts involved and should be better able to devise tenders in the required format. Practical case studies should help in this process.
