Public Affairs Ireland (PAI) has been providing high quality information, education and training and support services to its predominantly public sector client base since 2002. We have been providing consultancy services on a request basis from time to time but have now co-ordinated these activities into a new unit with a dedicated and widely experienced managing partner at its head.

Some of our directors are former senior public service officials with some 70 years experience between them. They held senior managerial positions during a prolonged period of change management and modernization throughout the Irish public service. Many of the internal structures that they helped to establish are still in place.

Our core consulting strength lies in the experience and knowledge base of our team. We can call upon experienced current and former public servants, legal experts, economists, HR experts, project managers and procurement experts, etc, as required. Our associates have worked in various countries in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe etc, on behalf of the OECD, the IMF/World bank, and the EU.

Managing Partner, PAI Consulting Services
Don Bergin is a former senior official in the Department of Finance, Ireland. In his career in the Civil Service, Don had responsibility for Public Private Partnerships, Government Procurement policy, Privatisation policy, Corporate governance issues, budgetary issues, and he was particularly associated with the development of the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin. Don Bergin holds an MEd in Public Administration from Trinity College Dublin, ACCA dip. Accounting and Finance, BA and HdEd from UCD and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
